What is Astigmatism?

Astigmatism is a common eye condition that can make your vision blurry or distorted. It happens when your eye is a slightly different shape (more of a rugby ball then football shaped eye). Astigmatism usually happens alongside short or long-sightedness.

What are the symptoms of Astigmatism?
  • Blurred/distorted vision
  • Eye strain
  • Headaches
  • Trouble seeing at night
What causes Astigmatism?

The direct cause of astigmatism is unknown and there’s no way to prevent it from developing. Some people are born with astigmatism, but many people develop it as children or young adults. 

What is the treatment for Astigmatism?

Astigmatism can be corrected with the aid of glasses or contact lenses.
