Goggles and speciality eyewear For many years we have supplied speciality prescription eyewear, such as Ski Goggles and glasses, swimming goggles, diving masks, and period motorcycle/vintage car/flying goggles. Most of this comes through word-of-mouth recommendation, as most opticians seem unable or unwilling to provide this service. In this section we are listing some examples of our most popular models. The prices quoted are complete with single vision prescription lenses (standard range), made in safety plastic material, with an anti-scratch coating. All you need to do is choose the goggle you want made up and fax us a copy of your prescription (which your current optician is obliged to issue you with) on: 020 8748 6111, or E-mail it to us at: eyeguy@focalpointopticians.co.uk We will then contact you with a delivery date and payment request. Increasingly, schools are now only allowing students who need corrective spectacles to participate in team sports, such as football and rugby, if they wear safety eyewear, to protect both them, and other players, thus avoiding litigation. There are several versions, mostly a variation on a theme: Hingeless fronts with elasticated headstaps, silicon bridges to reduce impact, and unbreakable polycarbonate lenses. Think of these as a piece of sports equipment, not a fashion statement. A popular style is shown below: Crystal
