Charges for soft contact lenses

An initial consultation and fitting fee for new wearers applies, and this covers all of the trial lenses used, and all visits to us during the initial fitting period. This fee is currently - £45.00.

As specialists in contact lens fitting, we use lenses from many different manufacturers, as well as designing bespoke lenses ourselves when required. We have no brand constraints and are not 'tied in' to a particular company, thus limiting choice. Most of our regular wearers prefer to pay a monthly premium by Direct Debit, Eyeplan Plus, which includes:

• Lenses
• Solutions
• Other care products
• Cases
• Spare lenses
• Routine professional aftercare visits
• Emergency visits
• Trials and upgrades as appropriate

Some wearers, especially irregular or occasional users, prefer a 'pay as you go' setup, Eyeplan Budget, covering the cost of professional care only, and buying lenses and care products on an ad hoc basis. Eyeplan Budget wearers pay a quarter year fee, by standing order, currently - £23.50. This includes:

• Full eye examination every 2 years
• Routine professional aftercare visits
• Emergency visits
• Trials and upgrades as appropriate
• Charges for Gas Permeable Lenses

Gas Permeable lenses are bespoke, and trial lenses are not usually available. The wearer is carefully measured and an initial set of lenses are commissioned especially for you. You are then seen for follow up visits, and any adjustments will be made, as necessary, without any additional charges. An initial fee is payable towards the costs of fitting, and a monthly payment scheme is set up afterwards. This includes:

• Lenses
• Solutions
• Other care products
• Cases
• Routine professional aftercare visits
• Emergency visits
• New lenses after two years

Charges vary, as these lenses are individually tailored to fit you, but generally, you can expect Gas Permeable lens wear to be one of the most cost-effective forms of sight correction and is usually cheaper than soft lens wear.
